What would satosugu do if Mc had another lover?
HAHAAH I WENT IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIRECTION
“I think I fell in love recently…” Your eyes are glazing over with infatuated lovesickness. Your chocolate bread long abandoned as your hand rests upon your heated cheek, the lovely thoughts of your object of affection flashing through your mind’s eye. Shoko pokes a finger into your free cheek, watching as the flesh squishes beneath her skin before leaning forth to steal a bite of your lunch.
“What?!” Gojo’s strawberry cheesecake had all of its initial interest stolen, the metal spork he had stolen from Geto’s home-made lunch bouncing off of his lap and clattering onto the classroom floor, just as Geto’s chopsticks pause midair, face starting to turn pale as he pounds at his chest to prevent the cherry tomato he had swallowed from going down the wrong pipe.
The look in your eyes is still far away, dazed and enraptured with the thoughts of your mystery crush, hearts basically emanating from you as the afternoon sunlight casts a gentle glow on you through the translucent curtains.
(Since when was there a breeze flowing through your hair, indoors…?)
It’s Suguru that barely manages to avoid choking through a mouthful of his fruit, a napkin to his mouth as he spits it out, hastily downing some water.
“When—“ He coughs to better swallow the drink that refuses to go down. “Did you both meet?” Satoru’s still struck with too much surprise and flabbergasted by your sudden news, his lower jaw hanging open as his sunglasses fall onto the turn of his nose.
Just when did they ever have another competitor?!
(Suguru closes his mouth for him.)
“We met when Shoko and I were out-“ Your fingers twiddle with the newly bought scrunchie inbetween your hands, the soft material making you reminisce the feel of fluttery feelings your mystery person gave you. “He was so soft and cuddly, with just a bit of attitude…”
Your eyes close in smitten devotion, your gait growing shy as your head swirls with images of him.
“Black and white hair…” A delinquent?! With dyed hair?! When was that ever your type? (“Seriously?! That’s what you’re into?!”)
“The sharpest brown eyes…” (“Suguru has sharper eye— Ow!”)
“The cutest upturned nose, and the softest hands…”
(“I’m cuter! And my hands are way softer!”
He holds out his hands to the group, placing them atop the desks that were pushed together for lunchtime.
“Shoko! Suguru! Feel and tell her!”)
“Could this be… What others call love at first sight?” Your trance is broken once you’re grabbed by your shoulders, being vigorously shaken back and forth as Gojo gets all up in your face, leaning diagonally towards you. “No! No, it’s not!”
Shoko is absolutely losing it, barely holding herself together whilst sneakily trying to muffle her snickers as she takes another bite of your chocolate cream bun that was now in her possession.
(You don’t mind. You still have the vanilla bean, azuki bean and dark chocolate flavours to try out.)
Suguru’s still baffled, holding his head in his hand as a finger taps anxiously on his forehead. A surge of fear going through him.
(Why? Why another person? What did he have that he or Gojo didn’t? They can’t possibly be lacking, can they? Shoko may call both of them trash but…)
“Do you mind if we meet them?” It comes out even before he could process his words, even Suguru himself is taken aback by how calm, how normal his voice had sounded, how it lacked all the anxiety and anger that coursed through him.
——
You agreed. Of course you agreed.
“I don’t think he will mind at all!” The smile on your face is absolutely radiant. “Ah, he’s just a little shy though.” You grow timid once again as your face alights with another grin. Does the mere thought of him make you blush and falter like a lovesick schoolgirl…?
“But I’m sure you will all love him!”
No. Suguru decides that he absolutely will not. Not when you’re practically skipping in excitement down the path, Satoru’s arm around you as he openly glares at each and every teenaged individual that seemed to match your description.
(“Hah?! What are you looking at?!” Gojo’s glaring at another man that dared to breathe in your general direction.
“(name), I don’t like how that guy looks.” He’s whispering into your ear as you giggle, telling him to knock it off with a light tap to his nose, his whining barely ceasing.
“I bet your friend isn’t much to look at anyway!” You tilt your head to the side, a contemplative hand under your chin as you stare at Satoru head-on, from his personality to his looks. “Hmm… I think you’re both around the same level.”
“Me?! Compared to him?!”)
Suguru’s following closely behind you both with Shoko at his side, the girl lackadaisically sipping at the coffee you had gotten for her as she maintains her silence, enjoying the sights and sounds of the busy street.
As if she knows something they don’t.
“You look awfully calm. Is there something you want to say?” Suguru’s look towards her is placid, a look of feint serenity, smile stretched just a little too wide, eyes clenched a little too tight.
He’s nervous. And Shoko can tell.
From the way he’s been blowing that strand of his bangs out of his face, taking just a few minutes more to brush out his hair before heading out today, walking so close to you earlier that distance was practically a myth between the both of you.
He’s jealous. And wasn’t trying to make it as obvious as Gojo did.
(Can you even tell either of them are jealous?)
You blink when Geto assists you in clasping your necklace, his warm hands pressing against your nape as you melt into his gentle touch. How nice of him. You were just about to ask him for help. “Don’t let others do this for you, okay?”
You recoil slightly when a napkin is slapped onto your face to wipe the cream off, Gojo’s hand enthusiastically helping you as you try your best to stay still, his free hand holding your cheek to prevent you from moving too much. “Only we can get this close to you, alright?!”
Okay…? You’ll always listen to them is what you have decided.
(Unless Shoko has an input too. You’ll let hers override theirs.)
She twirls a strand of her hair as she finishes the final sip of her coffee, taking a chance and trying out Gojo’s half-drunk bubble tea.
She makes a face before she replies, the sugar on her tongue making her grimace. “Not much at all.”
Geto pins his gaze onto her, laughing lightly as his fists start to unclench. “I think I would know. I’m your friend after all.”
The girl stirs the straw within the cup, smiling. She’s satisfied with that reply as she pulls out her phone, hiding away the lock screen from his view. “Then you have nothing to worry about. I promise on our friendship.”
Geto Suguru is at ease. (Only just the slightest.)
(“(nameeeeeeeee)!!! That guy looked at you suspiciously! Is that him?!”
“He doesn’t even have black OR white hair…”
“I don’t like how he stared at you! Suguru! Stand at the other side! Shoko, you’re on front duty!”)
——
“We’re here!” You’re standing before an alleyway, shaded just enough to protect the inner area from the sun.
“Ruruko! Are you here?” You jog deeper in as the trio quickly go after you, thoughts flying through a particular duos’ brains.
Ruruko? What kind of man that has you so enamored has that name? What kind of gentleman makes you come meet him in an alleyway? Why is Shoko so calm?!
(And why is she recording this?)
Satoru’s crossing his arms, puffing his chest out as he surveys the area, waiting for a group of rabid teenagers to jump out and attack as Suguru’s watching with careful intent, stance ready to take on a sudden fight before—
“Ruruko!” You’re squatting, lowering yourself down as you start cooing. Scratching inbetween the cat’s ears and under its chin as he meows, purrs into your hand.
“See? Isn’t he just the cutest?!” You’re practically squealing when the cat nuzzles back up to you, allowing you to pick it up and hold it, letting it’s furry front face the SSS trio as you bring his furry face next to yours, nuzzling your cheek into his and showing off his shiny black-white mottled coat and pretty brown eyes.
It only meows as it stares at them, licking his paws and using it to flick at his ears.
“A cat?!” Satoru’s gasping as he falls to his knees, dramatically holding his head in his hands. As Suguru plants his hand against a wall, his other covering his eyes.
“It was a cat all along?!”

Notes:
Both Gojo and Geto have a new lock screen photo of you holding Ruruko now. Shoko already has one.
Ruruko. satoRU, suguRU, shoKO. RURUKO.
Shoko knew all along, if you couldn’t already tell.
Gojo buys bubble tea with 100% sugar. Less ice.

21.12. & 22.12. 冬至・運盛り 🍊🥕🍔
Vocab
冬至(とうじ)winter solstice
境(さかい)border
甦る(よみがえる)to revive; to come back to life
運(うん)luck
縁起(えんぎ)luck; omen
再び(ふたたび)again; anew
上昇(じょうしょう)increase
転じる(てんじる)to turn; to shift
倍増する(ばいぞうする)to double
Translation
Winter solstice is the shortest day of the year. That means that the days after the following day will get longer. That's why it is seen as the day the sun is reborn, and since the power of the sun is revived on this day, it is believed that luck will turn towards you after the winter solstice. In other words, it's the day when everyone's luck turns (towards them). Also, on winter solstice, it is said that if you eat food with the character 'n' (ん) in it, you will be able to call forth 'un' (運・luck). Foods with 'n' in them, such as daikon radish and udon, were called 'unzakari' (bringing luck to its prime) and were believed to bring good luck. And it is said if an unzakari has two 'n' in it, the luck will be doubled.
If you want to increase your luck, what should you eat for winter solstice? Which words don't belong? ⬇️
Vocab
運盛り
みかん tangerine
あんこ sweet bean paste
にんじん carrot
パン bread
あんパン sweet roll commonly filled with red bean paste
ハンバーガー hamburger
あんまん bun with azuki bean paste filling
プリン pudding
Not 運盛り

So make sure you eat lots of foods with ん today! 🍊🥕🍞🍔

Okay, since you've mentioned Doraemon, I must know your opinions about it!
Oh, that one's also my all-time fave! My first time hearing of this series ever was in a Mega Drive video game, and the rest was history:
youtube
I remember reading more of the manga than watching the anime, but I enjoy both formats equally. It's an absolute success in Japan even after its author's passing, and has served as art inspo for Sonic the Hedgehog's original/classic self (Sonic's design was based on Mickey Mouse, Felix the Cat and Doraemon; he was all circles and curves, just so he could be easily drawn by children).
Many people categorize him as a magical cat, but he doesn't use magic; his gadgets are purely advanced science (though there was an episode where Doraemon and Nobita help Shizuka live her magical girl fantasy, and they've tried to work around the lack of magic).
"But, Bunny! If Doraemon is a cat, how come he doesn't have ears?" A-ha! That's when it comes the plot twist! Doraemon comes from a network of helping cat robots from the future that are yellow-painted and have cat ears... turns out that poor Dora had his ears eaten away by mice and he was so sad that he cried so hard that the yellow paint melted away from his body and he's now blue; he now fears rodents ever since this traumatic incident.
And there are also several other Doras: There's Dorami (his younger sister who occasionally visits him from the future), the Mini-Doras (a pint-sized trio of Doras in red, green and yellow), and the Doraemons (a team of six international Doras coming from Russia, USA, China, Spain, India and Brazil).
Oh, and I also wanna try eating a dorayaki someday. It's a sweet pancake bun with azuki (red bean paste) filling, much like the taiyaki (fish-shaped cake). Even though azuki is a common choice for filling, there are other options, such as chocolate for example. There's even an Oreo-flavored dorayaki recipe:
youtube
Asian meals and treats are just so mesmerizing to me.

Mori Ogai ate chazuke irl but. Not like Atsushi. Or Anyone.
As this year [2022] marks the 160th anniversary of Ogai’s birth and the centenary of his death, the Tsuwano ryokan inn association took note of Ogai’s favorite foods for a commemorative project. Yamaoka revived a dozen or so plates based on books written by the author’s children, as well as Ogai’s diaries, calling them “Ogai-shoku” (Ogai’s food). [...] While some dishes are suggestive of what today might be diagnosed as a compulsive cleanliness disorder, others are downright eccentric. One of them is a serving of “manju chazuke.” It takes the form of a regular bowl of rice with green tea poured over it, but comes with a “manju” bun stuffed with “anko” sweet azuki bean paste sitting on top. In her book “Kioku no E” (The picture of memories), Mari describes the dish as follows: “You may think something was wrong with my father’s sense of taste, but I still love the sweet sensation that is bitter and yet classy. It does have a Zen-like sweetness.”
[Emphasis added]
Takashi Konishi, Literary giant Mori Ogai’s favorite dishes recreated, served
Also, relevant to the thread, and if anyone's interested, I speculate about the relationship between the short story Mandarins by Ryuunosuke Akutagawa and bsd!Akutagawa's dislike for them here.
Since Atsushi's likes include chameleons, probably referencing Chameleon Diary by Nakajima Atsushi (in which the semi-autobiographical narrator sheds his complacency and existential terror to defiantly pursue subjectively-defined meaning), I can't help but find it meaningful that Akutagawa's dislikes include a probable reference to Mandarins (in which an encounter with someone he initially looks down upon strips the semi-autobiographical narrator of his unspeakable fatigue and ennui, filling him instead with sudden joy).
Perhaps I'm over-extrapolating, but perhaps Kafka Asagiri didn't stop Shin Soukoku'ing at lunar mansions.
*Takes you by the shoulders* I ADORE character profiles and character trivia and likes and dislikes sections. I love knowing this ruthless, heartless, cruel man of a character has a childish dislike for mandarin oranges. I believe in the inherent beauty of making all characters, no matter the background or moral stance, being made fundamentally human by assigning them insignificant culinary preferences. I stand by the supremacy of humanizing villains by giving them relatable tastes and trivial interests and ordinary hobbies. I treasure the hidden reminders that everyone is inherently human even when everything else we know about a character might suggest the contrary.
#bsd#shin soukoku#bsd akutagawa#bsd atsushi#bungo stray dogs#sskk#bsd mori#bsd meta#the character profiles aren't insignificant but they are precious and human and thread the irl people with bsd#sometimes poignantly sometimes thematically sometimes cheekily and sometimes because how else can you render mori ogai into ink#when he was already such a character#also if anyone wants a copy of chamleon diary i have one#it's translated at the end of a publicly accessible thesis on nakajima and romanticism which I also recommend#but you can skip to the short story too if you prefer

Croissants Du Tokyo, 1740 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248
Located inside Tokyo Central’s food court, Croissants Du Tokyo bakes on site. The selection is limited (about a dozen types of croissants & buns, loaves of bread, a case of krone) and items tend to sell out, so it’s best to go early. Coffee is available as well. On weekends, the $1 krones are replaced by $1 cream puffs. A krone features a pie crust cone with a creamy filling (custard, chocolate or matcha). Cute signs feature English and Japanese.
Power of Azuki ($1.48): Classic baked red bean bun, thin shell with poppyseeds, lots of sweetened slightly chunky red bean paste. The paste was pretty sweet but the nuttiness of the seeds helped cut through the sweetness. Can’t complain for the price. It looked like a textbook red bean bun.
Baked curry pan ($2.60): Small, soft thin baked bun with crumbs on the outside and a tiny bit of Japanese veggie curry inside (with potatoes and carrots). Good but the bun was mostly empty.
Plain croissant ($1.80): Pretty good with layers, a bit of crispiness and a softer interior. For under $2, it’s a steal. If it were more expensive, I’d want more layers and more butter.
The baked goods were very good – not the best ever but very reasonably priced and fresh.
4 out of 5 stars.

Sonia hiccuped, then groaned. The idea of facing anyone, much less Gundham, seemed to be an impossible task: almost as impossible as avoiding the churning feeling she was now experiencing in the pit of her stomach. It hurt, but then again, so much already did: it was simply another addition to a never-ending list of why she should've been kept in the Neo-World Program. Murders of her closest friends aside orchestrated by a horrible bear, it was somehow better than reality. If only her virtual self could have known before she'd agreed to press the giant red button and graduate.
"Too late," She muttered, referring to Yaguchi's overstaying her welcome. Alongside with removal of virtual deaths, the transition from the Neo-World Program to reality also had removed her personality pre-Tragedy: when everything that defined her, past, present, and future, was bright and beautiful. From fair, glowing skin to an equally sunny disposition. That, alongside a good amount of the world's population, had died during Junko's reign of despair.
But the woman had several centimeters on her, plenty of more kilograms of solid muscle, and was likely sober: even if Sonia had been allowed a firearm, she'd likely lose. "Fine, c'mon in," She conceded, stepping out of the doorway and back into the dirty, cramped cabin. It wasn't as if Agent Yaguchi would get very far: not with all the Novosonian knick-knacks, empty and broken bottles, and piles of clothes anyway. Sonia wasn't in a frame of mind to ask her to make herself comfortable, though Jabberwock Island didn't really lend itself to comfort in the first place. But expletives, those were a bit more common.
"Fucking hell!" Sonia screamed as she stepped down with her left foot. She'd barely noticed half an azuki bean paste bun that was surely stale on her floor, blood was not likely to be accounted for. Unless, of course, it was fresh and streaming out from between her toes. Hopping on her right foot, tears formed at the corners of Sonia's eyes before she soon lost balance, falling down onto hands and knees. Thankfully, she'd done so towards the bathroom, away from the rest of the broken glass and china. Though that did little to help the shard currently embedded in her foot, deep enough that she'd likely need stitches and a tetanus shot. Alongside an IV for quick hydration and electrolytes: she barely remembered the last time she'd drunk water. "Huuuurts...hurts so muuuch...oh SHIT-"
Agent Yaguchi was now the furthest thing from her mind. If Sonia didn't need Mikan's help before, she surely did now: from the activity to the sharp increase in pain, her churning stomach was not about to settle anytime soon. No, instead it took the last of Sonia's strength and focus to crawl towards the bathroom, grasp the toilet, and begin vomiting up the majority of the contents of her stomach plus added bile. An abundance of alcohol and some partially-digested snacks, Sonia didn't stop until both her stomach and esophagus alike burned and she was in dire need of a toothbrush and paste. And a shower: smell and old clothes aside, she'd let some of her hair fall into the toilet and it had been caught in the crossfire. The sight of it, alongside the searing pain from the fresh cut, was enough to make Sonia begin to sob, turning away from the toilet to prop herself against the wall. The best she could, blood stains and all.
"Yag-cchi," She whimpered, bits of vomit still clinging to the corners of her mouth as she wrapped her arms around her middle in an attempt to make herself small. A soothing technique she used to do when her parents' fighting could be heard through much of Novoselic Castle and all she wanted to do was pretend she was anywhere but there and that she was anything but the princess she was. "I think I'm gon' be sick...."
Babbling through her pain and delirium, it hadn't caught up with her that she'd already had, and had been ill for a long time. But when everyone else was as mentally and emotionally injured as she was, it wasn't as if she could lean on them too much for assistance and comfort. They were all trapped in their own personal hells: the only difference for Sonia was that the one person she'd relied upon to make it worthwhile, the one person she needed to survive it, had declined to remain by her side.
It had been about a month since Tanaka had woken up. Miss Pekoyama had already been awake, albeit in a state of slow recovery, when Shinobu had first arrived on the island, so she hadn't known exactly what to expect from the situation. Certainly, the remnants were busier than even they had been before, with helping catch Tanaka up on things, and make sure he was in a position to regain his strength and take on some responsibilities. Again, it seemed that Hinata made a number of the decisions for the others, and Shinobu caught herself wondering just who, exactly he was.
Beyond that, though, the days had blurred together. Whether it was the justifiable lack of trust in someone who wore Future Foundation colors, or Shinobu's own inability to connect with other people, they hadn't had a great amount of personal interactions with the remnants. When Souda needed an extra pair of hands to lift or carry something, she was there, and when Hanamura needed someone to wash dishes or set a table, she was there. Once Miss Pekoyama had moved out of it, Shinobu had spent a bit of extra time at the hospital - both to have Miss Tsumiki look her over, and also to clean things up when necessary to ensure that everyone had a tidy, organized space to recover in.
Avoiding Sonia hadn't been an active choice, but neither had it been especially difficult. She wanted time with Tanaka, naturally, and Shinobu had no desire to impede that, or cause trouble for either of them. That said, the general solitude wasn't especially beneficial to their own mental health. They'd drawn so many animals that their pens had run dry, and a new shipment wouldn't come until the following week. Some of her old strength was slowly being built back up, but she was still considered an at-risk agent, and thus barred from the Future Foundation on-site barracks where she could have found a bow to train with. It was isolating, lonely even, as the first crop of Future Foundation coworkers had loaded onto one of the boats bound back for Japan, with only Shinobu staying behind.
Now, with Tanaka out and about, but Sonia nowhere to be found, Shinobu found herself worried. It was an imposition, of course, to worry about someone who didn't wish to be worried about, but there was nothing Shinobu could do about it. The other remnants, seemingly, weren't concerned, but neither could the archer bring themselves to ask any of them about her. Instead, she found herself on Sonia's porch after a long day of work, Future Foundation bag still slung over her back, taking note of the cart at the cabin's side and the collection of boxes seemingly dumped out the window, strewn about without any organization for disposal.
She looked like a mess. Even from what Shinobu's sharp eyes could glean from the cracked doorframe, things seemed in disarray, and Sonia herself looked awful. There was an odor, as well, pungent and unpleasant, made up of a mix of things - none of them good - that Shinobu couldn't immediately place. "I regret the intrusion, Miss Nevermind," she said in a soft voice as she gently pushed open the door. "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't important, I promise." A twinge of anger, the frigid fire that had once been the hallmark of the cold prince, sparked inside of them. Of course the other remnants were busy, but did they really think it was appropriate to leave Sonia alone like this?
The shattered glass on the floor, the things tipped over, the stench growing even more powerful... "Familiar, huh, Shinobu-chan?" Anzu seemed to be deeply amused by it all. "Although, your father would have broken every bone in your hand if you'd shattered glass on that tatami. I guess princesses just get away with more, huh?" That's right. The specifics were different, the broken glass, the alcohol, but Shinobu couldn't help but remember her room back at the Yaguchi Estate. Dirty clothing piled in a heap, framed photographs turned down on the bookshelves, circles of black beneath her eyes, bruises and blood on her forearms from dangerous shooting. All from losing the person she'd loved.
Tanaka. It was obvious. He hadn't wanted what she'd wanted, or he'd been unwilling to commit to her, or any number of other reasons. No matter what the specifics, it was clear to Shinobu - that Sonia had hoped for something that hadn't come to pass, and even as Anzu jeered and delighted in her suffering, Shinobu wished, desperately, that it was acceptable for her to give Sonia a hug. Heartbreak was such miserable pain, especially when it left one feeling entirely alone.
"I just came by to check on you." It was pointless to ask if she was okay when the answer was clearly no. "I'll try not to overstay my welcome." Even if she wasn't welcome at all. There was a broom buried in some of the piles, and though Shinobu couldn't immediately see a dustpan, if she could get some of the mess out onto the porch, she could come by and deal with it later. Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea to speak to Miss Tsumiki and see if she could make time to drop by, as well. Sonia's tolerance was hardly in question, but surely this was detrimental enough to her health to warrant a second opinion.
Looking down as they were, taking stock of what they could easily clean, it was impossible to miss the bits of blood and the fact that Sonia was walking around without shoes, or even socks. "Miss Nevermind, I think you've stepped in broken glass. Would you please allow me to take a look, and clean some things up for you?" Her backpack had first aid supplies, among other things, and she knew enough about field medicine to help. "I know you want to be alone, and if you wanted someone here, it would be a friend and not a Future Foundation lackey. I regret that it's me."
But, it couldn't be helped, especially not if everyone else seemed content to leave Sonia to her own devices when she was clearly in distress. "If you truly hate it, I'll leave, and arrange for Miss Tsumiki to come assist you." They were near-strangers, after all. It was reasonable for Sonia to want little to do with her. "But if it isn't so loathsome as that, I'd like to help you. If you'll allow it, Miss Nevermind." Please, she thought to herself. Please let me take care of you, if only for a short while.

Hopelessly in Love
Yandere Scaramouche x Reader
Summary: Y/N was a simple civilian. Another face in the crowd. Yet something about them just clicked with him. Their charming smile, kind eyes, the hope they have for the world. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, right?
Oh how wrong you were….
Warning: General Yandere Themes, implied kidnapping, OOC Scara (?)
“Hopeless? crooked laughter escaped the figure. “Sweetheart. Pigeon. Dove.” His tone grew darker with each endearing pet name. “Don’t you see you’re the one caged here?”
Little things add up. They always do. Flashing a smile at a stranger, offering a helping hand, insisting to help despite being rejected. Everything would’ve been fine if you ignored that feeling of guilt in your gut. He’s a fatui harbinger. He doesn’t even need your help. Why take the risk?
Yet he looked so helpless. Borderlining pathetic when your eyes landed upon his bruised body in one of the many alleyways of Liyue. Little did you know that you would soon match with the ‘helpless’ victim.
~
Like clockwork, every Monday morning a gift nested itself at your door. Always from an ‘anonymous’ sender. Though the burning feeling in your chest is enough to warn, tell you who the gifter was.
Today an intricate floral barrette nested upon your welcome mat, being cradled in a lavender box, lined with royal purple silk. The delicate hair piece was adorned with what you guess was glass cherry blossoms. Similar to the flowering branches you’d see in Inazuma travel guides. Only to be attached to a note that simply read; To: My Delicate Flower.
Admiration, gratitude, acknowledgement. Those were the innocent reasons you gave yourself. He simply didn’t know how to properly express his feelings to you. It couldn’t be love. Even if it was. It should fade away quickly. After all, he most likely fell in love with your actions. Not you, right? Continuing to feed yourself these lies. You scurry back into your home, ignoring the growing static in the air.
~
It ate away at him daily. At first he denied it. There’s no universe in which he would fall for such a weakling. Let alone someone who looked down upon him with such naivete. Yet those doe like eyes drew him in, maybe opposites attract after all.
“Sir?” “Did I give you permission to speak? Can’t you see I was busy?” Each word seemed to gather the lingering static in the air, slowly gathering upon his fingertips. Before he could strike, a simple string of words stopped his rage causing it to go static. “She’s caught Childe’s attention.”
~
“One red bean bun to go please ~! Chimed a playful voice announcing their arrival, stealing the welcome bell’s job. “I think we harmonized that time. What do you think?”
Rolling your eyes, you ceremoniously stuff the sweet treat into his mouth. While taking his mora with your free hand.
“Keep the change, sweet. Think of it as a gift from me to you. After all, having me around must scare off the more skittish of patrons,” the silver tongue male reasoned, grinning from ear to ear as you sheepishly smiled back.
“You and I both know how that’ll affect the business if others catch wind. As you said before ‘the walls have ears’. So, be a good child and keep the change,” you chirped, slipping the excess coins into his pocket.
“All work and no play makes for a boring life. I’d hate for you to resemble a certain coworker of mine.”
As if summoned by the Archons themselves a familiar navy haired male entered the quaint bakery. The usual scowl that painted his lips softened upon seeing his sakura blossom. Only to sour once more at the living headache. With the soft sound of geta blanketing the once warm atmosphere. A small storm loomed above.
“Speak of the devil! Y/N, I’ve told you of Scaramouche, right? Oh yes ~!” A lump made home in your throat as you caught the glint in your ‘friend’s’ eye. “This little lady actually saved our dear Scara. Didn’t ya, Y/N? Truly a being too pure for this world,” he mocked softly, wiping a fake tear.
“Indeed. It’d be quite a shame if something were to happen to them.” Scaramouche stated simply, fighting back his grimace at Childe’s obvious bait.
Any patrons who dared stayed despite the single fatui member, now since fled with the newcomers aura.
“Azuki beans..”
“That’s their native name. It’s quite troublesome to get exports from Inazuma but it’s worth it in the end! I wouldn’t be able to make half of my selection otherwise,” wearing your best customer service smile, you spill out your sales pitch.
Did Scaramouche smile? Not going unnoticed by the younger harbinger, Childe’s Cheshire grin was quickly stopped with a tug of his ear.
“My apologies for the sudden intrusion but I was simply here to pick up the walking menace. Though I’ll be sure to make time to visit. It’d be a shame if I never got to try any of your baking after all,” with a boyish chuckle, he and Childe left your safe haven.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Just visiting an old friend. Why does my dear superior care so much? The mighty Scaramouche didn’t fall in love, did he?” The navy haired male scoffed at the thought, his cheeks ghosting a shade of pink. “As if. They’re nothing but a distraction. If anything someone should teach them their place,” Scaramouche clicked his tongue with eyes glued forward. Though Childe’s amused grin just fueled his growing agitation.
~
That’s why you were in the position you are now.
Silky ribbon bit and dug into your precious skin. Decorating your canvas with shades of purple, blue, and grey. Each movement voluntary or not simply helped tie the scene together with your captor playing the part of the centrepiece.
“You’re nothing but a hopeless cause. No one will love you if you’re like this,” choked sobs escape your lips, body flinching as Scaramouche cradled your chin within his palm.
“Hopeless?” Crooked laughter escaped the short male. “You think I’m hopeless? Sweetheart. Pigeon. Dove. Don’t you see that you’re the one caged here?” Pulling you into a suffocating kiss, he gingerly wiped your tears with his thumb. “You saved me that day. I’m simply returning the favour. Chin up princess. I’m sure you’ll be happier with me.”

Umm if it isn't too much of a hassle, can you draw male (nyo) Pak with male somalia?? I like these two countries and i really like your designs for both male and female somalia. Thank you for your Pak content :D
AWW THANK U FOR UR KIND WORDS.... and i’ve been itching to draw smth abt mister somalia recently! Here’s mister somalia and mister pak enjoying some fried coffee! Somalia is probably boring regaling pak w some story back in his day...
Coffee beans are called “bun” in the Somali language, and are used in a variety of foods and special rituals. This specific dish is eaten when welcoming guests, as a part of a morning ritual, or during meditation sessions called dhikr, an islamic form of devotional chanting praising God; it’s prepared by frying whole coffee beans in oil or ghee. Sometimes, sugar may be added to sweeten it, or it may be eaten with popcorn or a dish of boiled azuki beans called cambuulo or ambulo. Bun is served from a wooden vessel called a kur (though I have seen it be called a kurbin) It is typically eaten just a few at a time, ladling two or three of the fried beans (with a little ghee or oil) on the palm. You eat off the palm, and any remaining ghee/oil is applied to the forehead. Not only does it have cosmetic purposes, it’s said to prepare a person to face the world; this process is called foolbaxsi.
BONUS:
miss pak would prbly know miss djibouti better, even if the two countries have only established formal ties recently- they both love to gossip over tea and snacks~
once again, these pak designs belong to my friend @hammyletto!!
#hws pakistan#hws somalia#hws djibouti#hetalia ocs#hetalia#aph africa#hws africa#ask#ask-pakistan#everytime i draw somalia his hair gets bigger.......#if i get anything wrong pls tell me!!!#also Djibouti’s complicated feelings on family and kinship must be moved to another day alas

Spare any Kohga Hc's?
Oh goodness, this guy!!! Fun fact, he is affectionately referred to between us as "The Bastard" (derogatory) lol. He's a jerk on purpose, and while he's not one to throw his weight around in flashy ways like Ghirahim, or use magic near exclusively like Mikah, he's far from harmless. His biggest hindrance to his goals though, is.... Basically his ego.
Kohga knows he's skilled, he knows he's smart. When it comes to technology, he could easily be considered a genius. But without the tools and material available to spend a lot of time designing and tinkering, he falls back on the assets of his Sheikah turned Yiga training. He's an assassin, good with hand to hand combat and even better with poisons and mind games.... When he doesn't get cocky and underestimate what he's dealing with and the true number of players he's up against.
When he's not aiming for the completion of his nefarious goals, and having to restructure his game plan, his interests are a little more day to day. For example, an ongoing struggle of his is keeping his hair maintained. If you've seen artwork of him thus far you might have noticed that aside from the parts he pulls forward, his hair is cut in two distinct layers. The shorter section is meant to be pulled up into a bun when he wears his Yiga clothing, but keeping it at an appropriate length and keeping it even is... A task. He doesn't go into towns, so he can't ask for a trim there. He refuses to ask Ghirahim, and he adamantly refuses to trust Mikah with scissors both because Mikah's hair is an intentional war crime and he doesn't trust them not to cut more than his hair.
He also misses certain foods. Seeing as how he can't go into town, he's keen to watch for local peddlers. He misses sheikah food SO much. Red bean mochi. Azuki paste, miso, ramen, tempura, you name it. He's tried to make these things himself, but he's a man of science, not culinary perfection. His cooking is never on par and it drives him batty. He misses meals from home. And, the constant reminder that the home he knew was destroyed by the Hylian monarchy just fuels his drive to raze it to the ground. And if getting rid of the heroes Mikah hates will help facilitate that? He's all for it.

From Cat-ch 'Em All Café on AO3
“If you hadn’t appeared, I’d still have been fine.” Tim waved his hand dismissively like he hadn’t almost gotten the crap beaten out of him. “Now, are you here for the new specials on the menu? There’s the all-new Alolan Raichu pancakes, of course, but we also have a discount on the popcorn Torchic and new flavors of Pikabuns—”
“Tim, listen to me,” Jason clamped his hand down on the cafe owner’s shoulder. “Those guys are gonna be trouble, I can smell it. And I can’t be here all—”
“I know.” Tim smiled at him firmly, steel beneath his gaze. “I trust you, Jason.”
The other day I read this JayTim fic where Tim runs a Pokémon-themed cat café, and I just had to draw the lovingly-crafted menu in it.
Also it's the first fic to somehow get me reading a coffee shop AU in this fandom and actually enjoy it too so, that has to count for something.
The menu featured here: i took some liberties with the exact recipes, but if anyone’s interested...
Togepi custard tart - based on Portuguese egg tarts
Clamperl milk tea - blueberry-flavoured bubble tea with original Taiwanese tapioca pearls
Alolan Raichu soufflé pancake - Tim referred to them as “all-new Alolan Raichu pancakes” only, but if it’s new and in a Pokémon-themed restaurant then it’s gotta be something trendy from Japan I reckon 😎 hence soufflé pancakes, which are the next big thing in East Asia right now. they’re thicc and extremely fluffy things and they resemble a chonky Raichu much more than regular pancakes do.
Popcorn Torchic - another item where the authors didn’t specify the type of popcorn chicken they were going for, but the Taiwanese popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) is my favourite variant of it so consider this my love letter to Taiwanese food :’)
Pika-buns - these are based on the Japanese/Korean mochi bread balls, they’re about the size of a toddler’s fist and they’re crunchy outside with a soft, chewy, mochi-like centre. the Pikachu ears are stuck on after baking with specially-designed toothpicks; the face is painted on with food colouring. in my head, Tim got started on the mochi cheese buns first, then added the sesame variant, and now adds the strawberry variant - hence i added the little “3.0″ at the end there in the food name since there are 3 flavours to this food series, but all of this is entirely my invention since Tim just refers to it as “new flavors of Pikabuns”. wrt to the strawberry centre: normally Japanese/Korean mochi buns don’t really contain fresh ingredients, but the matcha & red bean variant does contain real azuki beans in it so i figured what the hell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(updated to add the recipes’ specifics on 04 Feb)
#jaytim#Tim Drake#Jason Todd#Pokémon#Tumblr please don't swallow this post because of the link 🙏🙏#stvlti doodles#dc art#i guess; it's technically fringe fanart of a fringe fanwork sjfhsjjd#stvlti makes stuff

Went hiking with my older brother and our friend Madison at Las Trampas State Park. I don’t know really what came over me, but I went to Paris Baguette and 85C Bakery before the hike. Two different bakeries! Cranberry and cream cheese x2, blueberry jam and custard, multiseed and apple pie, red bean azuki bun, curry bun x2...there were other kinds I can’t recall! I guess I really wanted to spoil those two. They’re always so kind to me..
I could come back to Las Trampas every week for the rest of the year and keep finding new views to love. We took the Elderberry trail onto the Rocky Ridge trail and had lunch in a secret spot in the EMBUD watershed. Don’t worry, I have a proper permit! Some more photos from the park can be found in my other roll of film (here!)
The first month of the year has been slow. Most of my attention is spent toward taking care of myself: making the bed, tidying, drinking tea, journalling...and doing those things whole heartedly! In the end I think my efforts to be less effortful have paid off. (Does that make any sense at all??) 力が抜いた I relaxed very quietly into a beautiful life.
Of course, it’s still lonely sometimes, but there’s nothing to fear. Staying safe and keeping happy is the number 1 priority. Then once the number 1 priority is secured, everything else can fall in place. “Having a stable foundation allows you to engage in passion projects,” Madison encouraged on the walk down from the mountain. As they said those words I imaged roots from my feet diving deeper and wider into the soil. I felt at peace. I had come to the assumption that my projects needed to be put on hold because of my focus on stability, but I was wrong. Sometimes it feels nice to be wrong.
We went to Johnson’s favorite Taqueria Los Pericos and my new favorite Khyber Pass Kabob for dinner after the sun set. I highly reccommend the pumpkin dish! It’s beautifully fragrant and comes with lush fluffy basmati rice. We whittled the evening down while laughing, talking, eating food on the trunk of my car, and warming up with hot cardamom black tea. To think...I’m really allowed to have this much happiness..
The good feelings from the hike and dinner settled closer to my core after a good night’s sleep. My feelings of love for my friends and family have absorbed properly into my heart.
Truly grateful,
Rujun
